Try taking a few minutes to focus on your breathing: a slow quiet inhale followed by an even slower exhale with your tongue on the roof of your mouth and your lips sealed.

This can help you quiet your mind and feel calmer.

Various cultures throughout the world and history have emphasized breathing practice as a way to achieve health. Our bodies are designed to take breath quietly through our nose. The nose filters, humidifies, and warms the air and nitric oxide is created. Nitric oxide helps deliver oxygen to the body, helps control blood pressure, and helps kill pathogens.

If you breathe through your mouth...cold, unfiltered, dry air enters your body putting you more at risk of getting sick. Oxygen isn't delivered as well to the body leading to less energy and focus.

Mouthing breathing can poorly effect facial development and aesthetics.

It also puts you at risk of developing sleep apnea.

If breathing through your nose is difficult for you, reach out to a professional who can help (myofunctional therapist, ENT, airway holistic dentist, etc)
